Lavender Child has shared the new video for “Happy Illusions” and it features a psychedelic and culty wandering through the woods. It’s perfect way to wake up on a sleepy Sunday morning.
Lavender Child was inspired to write the song after attending an outdoor music festival. The juxtaposition between the serenity of the surroundings and the people within it was unsettling to her and had her questioning the authenticity of the community. She sat down with director Dylan Mitro and came up with a concept for the video, “‘Happy Illusions’ is a song about the experience of love and the human connection to nature and whether that connection can be genuine when under the influence.” This lead them to incorporate themes of love, nature, and psychedelics throughout the visual.
“Happy Illusions” is the lead single from Lavender Child’s upcoming debut EP Reflections. Out December 1st
