Metallica: Hardwired…To Self Destruct:: Review

This has been a highly anticipated album for fans of Metallica. There was a lot of talk online about if it would hold up to expectations or just be a let down. I am here to say that I felt that it was NOT a let down at all. The album starts with the first single and title track “Hardwired”. The chugging guitars and snare intro followed up by a trashy Kill ‘Em All-esque riff and in your face vocal performance by James Hetfield. “Hardwired” is just the beginning of the greatness on this album. I think this album has a little bit of everything that Metallica has to offer for fans. If you purchase the Deluxe version of “Hardwired…To Self Destruct” you will also receive the bands one off single “Lords of Summer”. As well as a medley of Ronnie James Dio tracks, Deep Purple’s “When A Blind Man Cries”, and Iron Maiden’s “Remember Tomorrow”. They also included a group of live tracks. Metallica did something extra special with this album by shooting a music video for every song. They released each video two days prior to the album’s release. You can view those videos on the bands YouTube Channel.
