The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi:: Review

Star Wars fans should be happy with Abrams Publishing as they have once again delivered a stunning coffee table book in the form of The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Phil Szostak who did a stellar job of compiling pre-production information and art descriptions in an easy to read format in The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens rose for the challenge of The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi features illustrations and insights from the art department of Lucasfilm as well as the director, Rian Johnson in a chronological timeline.

The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi contains 256 pages and more than 300 illustrations and concepts that detail the production of the film. Revelations are made about the film that links it to the original art of Ralph McQuarrie and concepts that were created by Star Wars founder, George Lucas. The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi also offers concepts that did not make it into the film, which was interesting, and without getting into heavy spoilers; you’ll have to discover them yourself.

The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi is an intriguing read as it further provides ties within the sequel trilogy and the original. The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi is available now wherever finer books are sold and should be required reading for those who may have wondered why the director made certain aesthetic decisions.
